What belongs in a defect log a customer will accept

A log the customer will accept needs the image, the position, what was done, and who released it. Position is metres or a sheet number. Do not only write “passed”.

A record with the image and what was done

A defect log a customer will accept needs the image, the position, what you did, and who released it. The sentence “appearance passed” is not enough. On a roll the position is metres. On sheets it is the sheet number or the inkjet code. An image with no position cannot be matched to the customer’s complaint.

A record with the image and what was done

Why it is judged this way

The log is for someone three months later. Everyone remembered that roll at the time. Later only a table is left. If the table has no image number, the discussion becomes each person saying something different. A person signing the release is more useful than the system automatically stamping a pass.

What to compare

What you see What to call it What not to do
Image, metres, and what was done It can go to the customer Only export a mass of screenshots
No person who released Add who decided Let a system pass count
The position is a vague time Change it to metres or a sheet number Make the customer find it

At job change or when a roll is opened

  1. Require every alarm to keep an image and a position.
  2. Use a fixed wording for the result.
  3. A release needs a person’s name.
